The Aeon CineGrey 5D® is a premium EDGE FREE® fixed frame ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen built for standard and long throw projectors. Where older matte grey screens simply darken the image, the CineGrey 5D uses a sophisticated multi-matrix angular-reflective layer to eliminate 75% of ambient light while actually increasing image brightness. How CineGrey 5D® Works The surface uses a multi-matrix layer combining reflective and absorbent micro-particles. When projector light hits at the correct angle, it reflects directly to the viewers eyes. Ambient light from the sides and above strikes the absorbent particles and is eliminated. The net result is a flat-panel television level of brightness and contrast — even with room lights on. CineGrey 5D vs. CineGrey 3D Both are ISF certified ALR materials for standard throw projectors. The CineGrey 5D® is brighter (1.5 gain) while the CineGrey 3D® offers a wider diffusion range. Choose 5D for brighter rooms and premium home theatre installs. EDGE FREE® Frameless Look Internal aluminium framework with material wrapped to the edges gives a clean, borderless appearance. Available in sizes from 100 to 165 inches diagonal in 16:9 format. Not compatible with ultra-short throw or short throw projectors.
